Michael Vlacich is the Director of the New Hampshire Division of Economic Development at the Department of Resources and Economic Development. Vlacich formerly served as deputy chief of staff and policy director to Governor John Lynch. He had also been the Governor’s lead economic development policy adviser and played a similar role for former Governor Jeanne Shaheen.

Vlacich has served as lead adviser for the efforts of the governor's office on behalf of the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard and the purchase of the Berlin and Gorham paper and pulp mills by Fraser Paper. He assisted with the creation of a job training fund to help companies and workers.

In his current capacity, Vlacich oversees a Division comprised of the state's Business Resource Center, Office of International Commerce, Rapid Response Team and Procurement and Technical Assistance Program.

Michael was recognized as a Union Leader "40 Under 40" winner in the initiative’s inaugural year. Vlacich, a 1991 Concord High School Graduate and 1995 University of New Hampshire graduate, lives in Concord with his wife, Liz Purdy and 19 month old daughter Katherine Maria.
