Annual NHBSR Award
The NHBSR Cornerstone award is presented to an individual, a business, or organization that exemplifies the concepts of corporate social responsibility within their organization and promotes the concepts of corporate social responsibility to the greater business community within the State of New Hampshire.
The Cornerstone Award is named for the cornerstone of a building, a significant first building block of a large and important building, which is usually laid with appropriate ceremonies. NHBSR chose the name for the award with the belief that corporate social responsibility should be a foundation of every business, a basic building block, or cornerstone, of our economy and our society.
The inaugural Cornerstone Award was presented posthumously to Crescentia Healy True at the annual New Hampshire Businesses for Social Responsibility (NHBSR) conference at the Wayfarer Inn in Bedford, NH on May 11th, 2006. Accepting the award for Ms. True were her daughters Eryn and Emma True, her parents Crescentia Anne and Bill Healy and her two sisters Clare Healy and Elizabeth Tretter. "Crescentia was extraordinarily committed to other people and to her community, and always brought great energy and wisdom and leadership to that commitment," said Joe Keefe, CEO of Pax World Funds and Ms. True's former business partner. "She would be greatly honored to receive this award, and NHBSR has found the perfect person to honor in bestowing this award for the first time."
