NHBSR Partners on Perpetual Food Pledge
Wednesday, April 4, 2012 - 12:19pm
New Hampshire Businesses for Social Responsibility (NHBSR) is partnering with Antioch University’s student chapter of Net Impact to support their efforts to address the chronic food shortages being experienced by New Hampshire food pantries. The Perpetual Food Pledge asks participants to purchase one extra healthy, non-perishable food item per week throughout the year for those in need.
We are asking our member companies and organizations to join us in making our Conference theme, “Walking the Talk” a reality. Please consider the following …
Consider collecting food at your business to make it easier for your employees to donate throughout the year. Ask for volunteers to help deliver collected items to your food pantry/bank of choice as needed.
Let us know what you’re doing – we want to promote your efforts! Email Virginia with your story.
Conference attendees will be asked to bring non-perishable items to the event to be donated to the Seacoast Family Food Pantry at the end of the day. For a list of their needs, click here.
Together, we can make the walk a little easier for our neighbors in need!
Sustainability Institute a Huge Success!
Wednesday, January 4, 2012 - 3:15pm
NHBSR, through the generous support of Timberland and in partnership with the University of New Hampshire, launched the inaugural Sustainability Institute on October 4th through the 6th. The Institute was attended by twenty-two business people from sixteen organizations throughout the Northeast. (New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Connecticut and New Jersey were represented.) The certificate program featured three days of interactive sessions, all focused on further developing attendees' understanding of sustainability within their business world, communities and the natural environment. Feedback from attendees included comments like "You could not get this much rich content and discussion with high level peers anywhere else. I found the Institute incredibly valuable." and "Fabulous speakers and great mix of topics ..." and "I think this is the wave of the future!" We are already planning next year's Institue and hope you'll plan to be there!
