Planted Protein is developing a new, sustainable plant-based protein called Mongo. Mongo seeks to address the inefficiencies of producing high amounts of animal based protein and the lack of plant-based protein options available for vegans and vegetarians. Mongo is derived from Mung Beans, which are a sweet bean with high protein, fiber and low in calories. Mongo is great for scrambles, sandwiches, stir-fry’s or even as a smoothie addition. Consumers can simply eat it raw or fry it on a pan on the stove. Mongo can be cut into cubes, strips or crumbled.
